Root-cause first
Symptom relief matters, and we pursue it — but never instead of asking why the symptom exists. Suppressing a signal without understanding it is how people end up on five medications and still tired.
About the practice
Olive & Oak Wellness is a virtual functional-health clinic for people who have been told they’re fine and know they’re not.
Our story
My journey into functional health began long before Olive & Oak Wellness ever had a name.
My father passed away from pulmonary fibrosis at just 50 years old. Watching him live with chronic illness changed the way I viewed healthcare. Appointment after appointment focused on managing symptoms and helping him cope — but I was left wondering why so little attention went to the deeper question: why was this happening, and was there anything we could have understood sooner?
I don’t pretend that functional health could have changed my father’s diagnosis or his outcome. But losing him so young planted something in me that never went away.
I began asking different questions. Why do we so often wait until something is seriously wrong before we pay attention? Why can someone be told their numbers are “normal” while knowing they don’t feel well? Why does healthcare so often seem better equipped to manage disease than to help people intentionally build health?
As I studied hormones, metabolic health, nutrition, sleep, stress, and the interconnected systems of the body, things started making sense in a way they hadn’t before. Symptoms stopped looking like isolated problems. They became clues.
When I began connecting those clues and addressing the underlying contributors in my own health, I experienced something different — not simply temporary relief, but a greater sense of wellness and ownership over my health. That changed what I wanted to do for other people.
I created Olive & Oak Wellness for the busy professional who has learned to live exhausted. For the parent who takes care of everyone else while quietly wondering why they never feel like themselves anymore. For the person who has been told everything looks fine but knows something isn’t right.
And especially for people who have begun thinking about a question that became deeply personal to me: will I be healthy enough to be there for the people I love?
My father wanted the same thing most of us want — to watch his children grow, to experience more life with his family, and someday to enjoy his grandchildren. His illness took much of that opportunity away from him.
That is why longevity means something different to me. It isn’t simply about living longer. It’s about being present longer.
I believe people deserve healthcare that is curious, proactive, personal, and invested in understanding the whole person — not simply addressing one symptom at a time.
Our healthcare system is heavily influenced by limited appointment times, insurance requirements, medication-driven solutions, and financial pressures. Olive & Oak exists to create space for something different: thoughtful investigation, individualized care, education, and partnership.
We ask why. We look deeper. We help you understand your body and become an active participant in your health.
Because the goal isn’t simply to avoid being sick. It’s to have the energy to play with your kids. The strength to travel with your spouse. The clarity to pursue the things that matter to you. And someday, the health to get down on the floor with your grandchildren — and get back up again.
That is why Olive & Oak exists.
Restore what’s been lost. Strengthen what comes next. Be present for what matters most.
Founding principles
Symptom relief matters, and we pursue it — but never instead of asking why the symptom exists. Suppressing a signal without understanding it is how people end up on five medications and still tired.
Hormones, metabolism, gut, sleep, stress, and movement are one system. We read them together, alongside your history and the life you’re actually living.
Your plan is written for you, sequenced by priority, and revisited on a schedule. If the data says something isn’t working, we change it.
“Normal isn’t the same as optimal — and ‘within range’ has never been the same as feeling well.”Olive & Oak Wellness
The virtual-first advantage
Good functional care is longitudinal. It needs long visits, close follow-up, and repeated testing over months. A clinic model built around 15-minute in-person slots quietly fights all three.
Who we serve
Our patients tend to be in the middle of full lives — careers, families, ambitions — and have noticed something shift. Energy, sleep, weight, mood, recovery, or clarity is no longer where it used to be, and the explanations offered so far have been thin.
They are curious rather than credulous. They want evidence, not mysticism, and warmth rather than a lecture. Many arrive with a folder of “normal” results and a strong sense that the folder is incomplete.
Your practitioner
Founder & Lead Practitioner, Olive & Oak Wellness
Certified Functional Health Practitioner (NBHWC) with advanced training in peptide therapy, hormone optimization, and lab-driven functional care. I built Olive & Oak around the kind of conversation I wish my father had been offered — one that asks why first, looks at the whole person, and treats health as something we build together rather than manage from a distance.
I love working with people who have run the loop — who’ve been told their labs are fine, who’ve tried the obvious things, and who are ready to go deeper. Especially parents, professionals, and anyone who wants to be strong enough to keep showing up for the people they love.
